Biography

Adria Arjona is a Puerto Rican actress who has built a career in film and television. She was born on April 25, 1992, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Puerto Rican mother Leslie Torres and Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona. When she was a child, her family moved to Mexico City, where she spent her early life. At age 12, she moved to Miami, and at 18 she moved to New York City to pursue acting. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute while working as a hostess and waitress to support herself. Her experiences growing up around different countries and cultures influenced her approach to acting and helped shape her international career.

Arjona began her screen career in 2012 with the Spanish-language short film Loss: A Short Film. She subsequently appeared in television series including Unforgettable and Person of Interest before gaining greater attention as Emily in the second season of True Detective in 2015. Her first major feature-film role was in The Belko Experiment (2016), a horror thriller produced by James Gunn. She then appeared as Dorothy Gale in Emerald City, a television adaptation inspired by L. Frank Baum’s Oz stories. Her film career continued with roles in Pacific Rim: Uprising, Life of the Party, Triple Frontier, 6 Underground and Morbius.

Arjona became especially well known for playing Anathema Device in Good Omens and Bix Caleen in the Star Wars series Andor. Her performance as Bix brought her widespread recognition and helped establish her as a prominent international actress. She also starred opposite Glen Powell in the romantic action comedy Hit Man, a critically successful Netflix film released in 2024, and appeared in Blink Twice with Channing Tatum. In addition to acting, Arjona has worked as a producer and has taken on increasingly prominent roles behind and in front of the camera. Her career reflects her versatility across drama, science fiction, fantasy, comedy, horror and action. She has continued to expand her profile through major film and television projects, while drawing attention for choosing complex and independent female characters.
