She is an American actress, filmmaker, singer, and producer who began performing at a very young age. At six years old, Larson became the youngest student admitted to a training program at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. She began her professional acting career as a child, appearing in a comedy sketch on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 1998. She later appeared in television shows, including Raising Dad, where she became a regular cast member. She adopted the professional name Brie Larson, with “Larson” reportedly coming from a family name. Her nickname is commonly given as “Brie.”
