Biography
Sana’a Shaik was born in Durban, South Africa, and spent part of her childhood there and in Johannesburg before her family immigrated to Australia in 2008. She settled in Perth, Western Australia, as a teenager and later moved to Sydney. After completing studies at Curtin University she earned a master’s degree in management from the University of Sydney. She spent three years working in finance, yet acting had always been a strong personal interest. She began exploring performance through workshops and drama studies, gradually shifting her focus toward a professional career in film and television while living in Australia.
Shaik built her early screen credits through short films and guest roles before gaining wider notice. She appeared in the television series Jack Irish and took a supporting part as Xanthe Whyte in the science-fiction feature 2067. Her television work expanded with the role of Lacey Diaz in the mini-series Reckoning and a leading turn as Stevie Harrison in the Netflix series Dive Club. She continued to appear in projects such as the anthology Summer Love and the comedy series Bump. In 2022 she was recognized as a rising star by the Casting Guild of Australia, reflecting the growing attention her performances were receiving within the Australian industry.
